Appointments

Psychiatry and Psychotherapy consultations share common ground and complement one another.

In a Psychiatry consultation, we evaluate the client's mental health status, provide diagnoses, and, if necessary, prescribe medication. These appointments occur more sporadically but are necessary to monitor progress and adjust treatment.

In a Psychotherapy consultation, we perform deeper work, exploring how you feel. These sessions are more regular and allow the client to discover new ways of relating to themselves and others.

In most cases, these two areas are used together; medication from the Psychiatry consultation can help optimize and internalize the insights and discoveries made during Psychotherapy.

It is possible to receive care in just one of the specialties, either Psychiatry or Psychology.

Psychology consultations are provided by professionals on my team, ensuring either exclusively psychological support or, when necessary, coordination with Psychiatry consultations.

Psychotherapy sessions are conducted by professionals trained in that specific branch, who may be psychologists or psychiatrists. The goal is to understand a person's problems and difficulties based on their personal history. These sessions are ideal for working through suffering or difficult circumstances, promoting positive changes in how a person views themselves and faces their challenges.

Psychology studies human behavior and emotions; psychological evaluations are conducted for those seeking to understand and manage emotional difficulties.
